The Makaseb Funds Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mashreq, was established in 2004 to bring a best in class solution for our clients in the business of Asset Management focused on the greater Middle East and North African region. Mashreq Asset Management offers comprehensive investment solutions to meet your needs.
Our solutions include the Makaseb family of mutual funds and our Managed Accounts. We leverage our regional investment expertise and fundamental research capability to deliver to your specific requirements.
Currently we manage 5 mutual funds under the Makaseb umbrella and a number of Discretionary portfolios. Makaseb has been at the forefront of opening up opportunities for investors in the Middle East. Its expertise has made our mutual funds and services, the vehicles of choice for sophisticated investors, both domestic and international with leading global Financial Institutions and Government Authorities amongst our clients. The funds company is incorporated in Bahrain as an exempt stock company approved by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), formerly known as Bahrain Monetary Agency, and the UAE Central bank. All Makaseb funds are regulated by the CBB under their regulations governing Collective Investment Undertakings, June 2003 which ensures greater transparency and investor protection.
Our Accounts and funds are benchmarked against internationally recognized indices, which facilitate portfolio optimization and enables investors to judge our long term performance against appropriate benchmarks. We have inculcated a 'fiduciary culture' within the Asset Management team. This culture ensures that our funds and portfolio managers are held accountable to the highest standards applicable to the Asset Management business globally.

Makaseb, as Mashreq’s Asset Management unit, is positioning itself as a long-term business that will continue to expand to become a top provider of investment management services in the region.
We are continuously striving to expand our product offerings and improve the quality of our investment products in order to bring world class practices to the region. Very recently, Standard & Poor's awarded "AA" (very high quality) rating to the Makaseb Arab Tigers Fund, and an "A" (high quality) rating to the Makaseb Emirates Equity Fund and the Makaseb Qatar Equity Fund.
